MacOS 9.0.4 and earlier: if you insert an unformatted disk while Kilometre Browser is in the foreground, the Bad Format Dialog will not appear, and the disk will stay inside the drive until you restart. Two possible ways to avoid this: don't insert unformatted disks while Kilometre Browser is in the foreground; or upgrade to MacOS 9.1.
In MacOS 9.x, certain filenames, specially very long ones mixing different languages or perhaps using unsupported character sets, may turn files unusable by the Finder. I believe this is a system problem. If this happens try renaming the file with Kilometre Browser. If Kilometre Browser is also unable to rename the file, then try accessing the disk from a MacOS X system, or from a MacOS 8.1 system.
Some Kilometre Browser features require the Finder to be running:
Prior to MacOS X, window titles don't show foreign characters.
When you use Kilometre Browser to rename files, be aware that many applications still don't support long filenames. This can be a problem, specially if you use characters not available in your system script. In this case the MacOS 9 Finder and other old applications may show an illegible file name.
Some file systems don't support long file names but incorrectly claim they do. In this case, some copy operations may fail when trying to create a file name longer than 31 characters.
HFS+ hard links don't work well in MacOS X versions before 10.1.3
Currently Kilometre Browser does not support authentication. To be able to change some file attributes in MacOS X, you may need to be root, or launch Kilometre using sudo.
